About
Us
Tweed
Shire Vacation Care Inc and Tweed After School Care were
established in 1984 to meet the childcare needs of working
and studing families of the Tweed.
From
those humble beginnings the service has developed to operate
in two locations - Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah.
Some
highlights over the years, include the establishment of
the new building within the grounds of Tweed South Primary
School and the winning of "Best OOSH Centre" in
NSW (2001) and "Inclusion of Children with Special
Needs" Award (2003).
Tweed
Vacation Care operates during all NSW school holidays and
public school pupil free days. Programs are age appropriate
with the juniors (5-8 years) and seniors (9-12 years) enjoying
a mixture of in centre and excursion activities. Our Murwillumbah
centre offers a program for 5-12 years.
Tweed
Shire Vacation Care Inc has a long and valued history of
including children and young people with special needs and
considered the benchmark for inclusion in the Tweed.
Our
services are also inclusive of our indigenous community
and welcome children from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander
and Australian South Sea Islander backgrounds, several members
of our staff are also from the Indiginous community.

and Murwillumbah After School Care operates during the NSW
school terms and offers a mixture of structured and free
choice activities including art, craft, sports, games, drama,
